The Community of Elizabeth Township

Elizabeth Township is a residential community with a population of approximately 13,839 people. It is located in Allegheny County, 25 miles Southeast of Down Town Pittsburgh, PA and 20 miles West of Greensburg, PA. The Township covers an area of 22 square miles neighboring Versailles Boro, South Versailles township, Elizabeth Boro, Lincoln Boro, Forward Township, White Oak Boro, City of McKeesport (All in Allegheny County), Rostraver Township, and Sewickley Township (Both in Westmoreland County).

Elizabeth Township is governed by a Board of Commissioners. A Township Secretary oversees administrative operations and supervises the office staff. The Municipal Building is located at 522 Rock Run Road, Elizabeth, PA 15037. Regular business hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.

Elizabeth Township Recycling

Leaf collection will begin in the Township on November 12, 2009.
Please have the leaves raked to the curb and not bagged.
Collection will start in the Municipal building area and then work their way out through the Township.
A second collection will be done after the first full run through the Township is complete.
Look for a reminder in the Daily News paper the beginning of November.

How to prepare your materials & newspapers

Your continued participation in the Township recycling program is greatly appreciated. To enhance our program we will provide drop off bins for newspaper collection in addition to regular collection.

These bins will be available Fridays 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the following locations:

Elizabeth Township 2005 Recycling Annual Service Fee is $12.00. Make check payable to: Twin Rivers Council of Governments - the designated collector.
Your recyclables will be picked up on the same day as your garbage collection.
